Crane Viewing

Crane Viewing at its finest, during the middle of the day.

Crane Viewing

The cranes love to stop by our facility during the middle of the day.  They relax in our natural grass prairie giving you a great chance to see them with a minimal amount of walking to get close to them.

No Early Wakeup call!

The cranes love the river in the early mornings and evening.  Crane watchers now have an opportunity during the middle of the day to stop and see the cranes in their natural environment.

Mid Day Viewing

Once the cranes leave the river, they find something to eat and then move to locations like ours to rest and relax during the remainder of the afternoon.  Plan your river visit first thing and then come see us after lunch to get an up-close look at these majestic birds.

Stop and see us.

Stop for a quick visit or spend the whole afternoon. We will provide a great opportunity to see the cranes and we have a wood cabin warmed by a fire for those days when you need to warm up a little.  Donations are appreciated to show how much fun you had here.

Dancing and courting

The cranes love to dance and court while they are resting in the prairie.  This provides a great photo opportunity.  We encourage you to bring your cameras and binoculars.

Whooping Crane

Sandhill Cranes are great, but on occasion, Whooping cranes can be spotted in our area.

Etiquette

We strive to provide a nice viewing opportunity, so please respect the cranes and the other people present.  Don't venture out into the prairie, which will scare off the cranes and ruin the experience for all.  Please stay in the marked observation areas
